History
SolarDay was founded in 2009 and has grown into a worldwide event that is celebrated yearly on a weekend day before the Summer Solstice - the longest day of the year.
SolarDay 2009 included a solar thermal tour hosted by the City of San Francisco and media coverage of this day in recognition of the role of solar in California and the U.S.

More than 700 media wrote stories about SolarDay in 2009.
In 2010, SolarDay grew to events in over 25 cities across North America and worldwide. An estimated 10 million people saw information about SolarDay in 2010.
